Former Formula 1 driver mark Webber has shared his opinion about Brendon Hartley, who at the United States Grand Prix debut in “Royal races” in the Toro Rosso.
For several seasons the pair performed together with Hartley for the factory team Porsche in the WEC, and in 2015, they even became Champions.
“In the Red Bull always pretty tough attitude to young people, but it was part of the test. I had to roll up our sleeves and get to work, but for Brandon it was hard, ‘ said Webber in an interview with the Daily Mail. – He could go home, but do not quit the sport and continued to fight. We talked a lot with him about what went wrong. Not to say that Brendon was sorry, but he wanted to fix it.
Technically he was always well versed and long WEC race learned stability. Its weak point was the physical training, but thanks to Cycling, he scored a good shape.
Hartley is a very purposeful guy. Due to this as he made progress.
Strange that he was in Formula 1 is not a Junior series and not at the expense of financial support. It’s a unique story and a great chance for him.
Brandon always remains true to himself and not conceited, but he’s a real fighter. It is usual for new Zealanders – less talk, more action”.
