The 2009 world champion Jenson button believes that he had to withdraw from Formula 1 a year earlier.
Officially Jenson has finished career of the pilot at the end of season 2016, but in 2017 he had to replace in the composition of McLaren’s Fernando Alonso at the Monaco Grand Prix, as the Spaniard took part in the race “500 miles of Indianapolis”.
“If I miss F1? No – quoted AUTOSPORT.com Button, complaining at Suzuka. I miss racing. But I’ve fallen out of love with Motorsport.
Probably, I had to withdraw from F1 a year early”.
At the same time, in 2017, the button made the race “1000 km Suzuki” in Super GT, having received from the competition great fun.
“As soon as the race ended, I wanted to be back in the car and redo the race, – said the button. – I haven’t had such feelings.
Next year I am definitely going somewhere to speak. Perhaps it will be America, Europe or Japan. I have options, and I want to spend a full season”.
