The Executive Director of the Force India Otmar, Szafnauer said that some of the F1 teams broke the rules, start drying the field before the start of the Grand Prix of Malaysia.
Three hours before the start of the race in Sepang was a heavy rain. The track had time to dry, but before the start of the race on the grid still visible traces of wet asphalt.
Some teams used the hand dryers to bring the starting position in a manner contrary to article 22.3 of the sporting regulations, which States: “Participants are forbidden in any way to change the state of the track surface, but to chase her.”
Unlike its competitors, Force India decided not to dry the starting place of Esteban aukon.
“Half the teams in the starting field had dried up the asphalt, which is prohibited. And we didn’t do it – quoted AUTOSPORT.com Szafnauer. We just followed the rules. All those dried starting field got the advantage over us, because we started with wet asphalt.
I think McLaren was one of the teams that were dried bars.
We have raised this issue. We haven’t talked with Charlie [Whiting], but discussed this issue with other members of the FIA.
They’re puzzled. I don’t know what decision will be made”.
Most likely, this issue will be raised at the meeting of heads of teams at Suzuka next week.
