The owners of Formula 1 have started negotiations on the return of the Grand Prix of the Netherlands in the calendar of the championship.
As reported by AUTOSPORT, F1’s commercial Director Sean Bratches recently visited the Netherlands and discussed with the authorities the possibility of organizing a race on the highway in Amsterdam or Rotterdam. While both options are under consideration.
In Rotterdam in recent years regularly held demonstration races, and the city has some experience organizing events F1, whereas with a race in Amsterdam will have more difficult due to issues related to logistics.
No specific dates are still unknown.
“Urban race is always a huge number of spectators and a unique atmosphere, – says the head of the Red Bull principal Christian Horner. Max has such support in the Netherlands that attention to race will be drawn throughout the country. That would be amazing. If there is a place for the race and track configuration, then why not?”
