The pilot Toro Rosso Daniel Kvyat said his tenth place following the United States Grand Prix.
After missing two weekends in Malaysia and Daniel returned to the Italian team in Austin and immediately he finished in the points zone.
This is his third points finish in 2017 after the Australian Grand Prix and Monaco.
“It was definitely my best race of the season – said Kvyat. – I am very happy with the result. I did everything I could to score points. Enjoy their work and have a clean race. The team did a good job.
It is a pity that I managed to defend the ninth place from the attacks of the Masses, but on a worn set of Soft level of grip was insufficient. In addition, direct we have had problems with the power plant, which had a deficit of power.
After missing two weekends I went back to the team with a fresh mindset. Within the team there have been some changes that allowed to find a new motivation. Over the course of the weekend all worked perfectly. We had a great race.”
F1 rookie Brendon Hartley finished in Austin 13th.
“The race was dealt a tough hand, but the debut Grand Prix was incredible, admitted the new Zealander. – I had not the best start. At the same time I haven’t practiced starts.
After that, I participated in a large number of battles on the track. I’m happy with my performance. The pace on the course was pretty good, especially on the final leg.
I think the only mistake I made when allowed Strollo win. I was not able to regain the position, and then he was holding me back a bit.
Over the weekend I faced many challenges and learned a lot. I hope that I will get another chance to repeat the experience. I enjoyed every moment of the racing weekend and want to thank the team for that. It was incredible”.
