The pilot of Renault Carlos Sainz told about the features of the track brothers rodríguez and the unique atmosphere during the race weekend in Mexico.
“The stage in Mexico – one of my favorites in the calendar, and indeed it appeals to many pilots. Such support, as here, we don’t get on any other race, – quotes the science press-service of the Renault. – The track is difficult in terms of piloting. Because of the great height above sea level downforce is quite low, making the machine very easy. On this track as there are long straights and difficult slower turns.
I usually spend a good qualification for the Grand Prix of Mexico. Last year I went there in the third segment.”
Partner Spaniard on the team Nico Hulkenberg added: “Mexico city is a huge city, probably one of the biggest I have ever been. I was lucky enough to fly over them by helicopter – it was impressive.
Speaking about the track, it is very difficult. There are many interesting ligaments turns, which in appearance seem simple, but actually very technical. So to pass a good circle is hard. Notably the two last turn and the section of the stadium, the passage of which always causes delight”.
