Racer Force India Esteban Windows commented on his performance at the British Grand Prix, which he finished in eighth position, ahead of two seconds of teammate Sergio Perez.
“I had a great start and played a couple of positions, but at the end of the first round behind Nico Hulkenberg – said Windows in an interview to the press-service of Force India. – Then I had an interesting battle with Sergio. We struggled for most of the race. As in Canada, the team did not intervene. Sergio was very fast and pressured but I managed to stay ahead.
It’s nice that we once again scored points with two cars. Stability is one of our strengths this season. On all types of trails our machine is equally fast and allows you to compete for points. We must try to maintain this trend in the second half of the championship”.
Perez was left with less than happy with the final result and complained about problems with overtaking at Silverstone.
“A difficult race. I don’t think we managed to demonstrate the true pace and could achieve a better result. But at least we finished with both cars in points on the home track, ‘ said the Mexican. – I’m not the best way started, and this determined the course of the entire race for me. Overtake at Silverstone is very hard, and although I spent the whole race in the DRS zone for Esteban, no real attack attempts to exercise could not.
Of course, in hindsight it would be possible to do something different, but after the finish is always easy to talk.
In General we can be satisfied with the first half of the season. I hope in the next race after the summer break we will show the results that we are really capable of.”
