Force India co-owner Vijay Mallya will continue to represent the Indian Motorsport Federation, the world Council of FIA in Motorsport, despite the problems with the law, this was stated by Vice-President of the FMSCI Akbar Ebrahim.
The Indian businessman, accused of failing to pay accounts payable, faces deportation to his homeland. In the past two years, he lives in the UK, and the Indian Federation at various meetings and conferences is Vice President Vicky Chandok.
“We appointed representatives to the FIA for a period of three years and choose a new one only after the end of the current cycle in 2018. If we replace Malho or even the Wiki, we will lose the place in the world Council, which will hurt the Indian motor sport – said the President of the FMSCI Akbar Ebrahim. It’s also worth noting that the presence of such representatives as Vijay and Vicky, is in our favor, as both have good connections to the FIA”.
