The pilot of McLaren Stoffel Vandorn was satisfied with his performance in qualifying in Monaco.
During the first and second segments Vandorn showed good results. Despite the fact that the curtain Q2 he crashed his MCL32 in turn Swimming Pool, he managed to get into Q3, although formally did not participate in the final part of Saturday’s races.
“We expected a good performance from the car, arriving at the street circuit in Monaco, where it is not so important the maximum speed, – quotes the Belgian GPUpdate.net. – I think we’ve found your pace, which is very important. On Saturday I felt very comfortable in the car.
Over the past few weeks I worked hard to gain speed and improve your relationships with engineers in order to squeeze the maximum from the car.
Our qualifying performance [with the exception of the actual results] are encouraging. This is a step in the right direction.
Every time we went to the track, we were on the fifth, sixth or seventh position. I had the potential to repeat this result in the third segment.”
On the starting grid At the Monaco Grand Prix, Stoffel will lose three positions for the collision with Felipe Massa in Barcelona and will start from 12th place.
