Team Red Bull Racing and Force India are unlikely to compete with each other for third place in the constructors ‘ championship despite the gap to 19 points – this opinion is shared by the leaders of both teams.
Whereas RBR in the first five races in most cases run to the finish with only one machine, the Indian team has achieved 100% result in all of the Grand Prix, scoring points with both cars.
“In the last two or three races we finished with only one machine, while Force India were great in these Grand Prix, to the maximum using all available options. But still, in terms of speed difference between our teams is still quite significant”, – quotes AUTOSPORT Christian Horner.
COO Force India Otmar, Szafnauer also recognizes that the current speed of the machine VJM10 to throw a real challenge to Red Bull Racing will not succeed.
“After 1/4 of the season we are behind them on 19 points. Such a gap will not be called insurmountable. The goal is still achievable, but we need to improve, he said. – Red Bull is faster than us and if nothing changes, they will remain ahead. Simple as that.”
The nearest pursuer – Toro Rosso – Force India ahead by 32 points and operating officer urged the team not to relax.
“A large part of the season still ahead, he continued. – Last season, Williams at some point was ahead of us by 60 points, but in the end we came out ahead. Similar can happen with us this year. So you need to work hard and effectively upgrade the car.
The struggle is very dense. Renault looks good and don’t be surprised if major progress will achieve McLaren-Honda, and the Williams car, in my opinion, and so is better than ours”.
