Pascal Wehrlein admitted that qualification in Monte Carlo turned out to Sauber failure.
The German took 19-th place, while his teammate Marcus Ericsson rounded out the final Protocol.
“A difficult weekend on a street circuit in Monaco is continuing, said Pascal. – Starting Thursday, we tried to increase the level of adhesion of tyre with road to increase overall speed.
We have substantially altered the machine settings, but never found a good option. 19th starting place is not the best result, but in the race I’ll try my best”.
Eriksson added: “it was hard for Us since Thursday. I do not feel confident in this car. We tried different settings, but for us here, it seems, nothing works.
In qualifying I did my best and even got too close to the fence in the tenth turn. I touched the barrier on the left rear tire and that was enough to damage the rim. Because of this I was forced to stop the car.”
