The former head of the team Sauber Peter Zauber visited ended on the eve of the Grand Prix of Spain, where admitted to journalists that he misses Formula 1.
After the Swiss company Longbow Finance bought Sauber, the former boss of the team not appeared in the paddock and did not participate in the life of the team, but new team owner Pascal Picchi has sent a special invitation for Peter to race in Spain.
“As soon as I got out of the car, I immediately saw Felipe Massa – said Peter in an interview with SonntagsBlick. He came, we hugged – that’s why I accepted the invitation of Lido di Jesolo. I am pleased that everyone is happy to see me. Formula 1 has taken 25 years of my life, this experience just never forget.
I managed to retire in nine months, so I was pleased with the invitation of Lido di Jesolo, with whom I have formed a great relationship.
In Formula 1, I miss you more at people than at the races – and on the TV to see what I do regularly, to come into stages does not necessarily”.
Zauber has commented on the duel between Mercedes and Ferrari in the season-2017: “I’m glad Ferrari have revealed their potential, but I still have doubts. Still I was pleased to witness the victory of the Bottom – it’s great that this still happens.
I would also very happy if the six best cars had such an advantage over the others.”
Zauber refused to comment on the performance of his former team, but the new owners of the team are set up for success.
“We’ve acquired not just the F1 team, but all Sauber Group, which comprises several companies, which employs excellent specialists, said Picchi. – We want to achieve great success that Switzerland would be proud of”.
