Formula 2 Gustav Malia debuts in F1 in Sauber cockpit C36 seasonal tests at the Hungaroring in August.
Marcus Ericsson and Pascal Wehrlein tested a car for the seasonal tests in Bahrain. This means that in Hungary the Swiss team needs to put in the cockpit of the car riders who do not have experience of performances in the Big Prizes.
21-year-old Malia finished 13th in the season-2016 in GP2 in the squad Rapax. This year he moved to the Racing Engineering team: after three stages of the campaign-2017 Swede takes the ninth place in the overall standings of the F2.
“The prospect of piloting of the machine F1 can not inspire,’ said Gustav. – My childhood dream will soon become reality. I look forward to these tests, during which I will experience incredible emotions.
I will do my best to productively spend the test day and learn as much about F1 car. I heartily thank the Sauber team for this fantastic opportunity.”
Seasonal tests at the Hungaroring will be held August 1-2, after the Hungarian Grand Prix.
