Deputy head of the Force India Robert Fearnley acknowledged that participation in the meetings of the Strategic group brings a lot of hassle and fraught with liability for private teams.
The Indian team included in the Strategic group in 2015, but that doesn’t stop Fearnley regularly to criticize this structure, which also includes Mercedes, Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, Williams, McLaren, as well as representatives of the FIA and the Formula One Group.
“From my point of view, it gives a lot of trouble, – quotes Fearnley AUTOSPORT. – This is our third year in the Strategic group, and during this time I had much to endure.
From the point of view of moral responsibility we are the only team representing an independent team and must defend their opinion.”
Fearnley also believes it unfair that the Strategic group includes, Renault, Toro Rosso, Sauber and Haas.
“I understand how uncomfortable this is. Personally it gives me a headache, because I have a responsibility to its own team and teams in the group are not presented. In my opinion, this is absolutely wrong, – continued the Deputy head of the Force India. – We do what we must go against not only teams, but also against the owner of the commercial rights and the FIA – anyone who tries to reduce the influence of independent groups”.
