The Sauber team has confirmed that Pascal Wehrlein will return to the cockpit C36 during the race weekend in Bahrain.
During the first two Grands Prix of the season in Australia and China it was replaced by the reserve pilot Ferrari, Antonio Giovinazzi.
Pascal was involved in a serious accident at the Race of Champions-2017, damaging the neck. This had an impact on his preparations for the new season in F1.
Toto Wolff: Pascal was a fracture of the cervical vertebra
He missed the first block of pre-season tests in Barcelona, and after the two Friday practice in Melbourne has decided to refuse participation in the GP of Australia because of the unwillingness of the organism to withstand the full distance race more demanding cars.
Pascal went to China. There were fears that the Germans will be able to come back just for the Grand Prix of Russia in Sochi, but today the Swiss team confirmed the return of Wehrlein in Bahrain.
