Valtteri Bottas showed the best time at the end of the morning session of the second day of testing in Barcelona.
Bottas drove Ultrasoft few fast laps in a row in the beginning of the test session, then change to Supersoft and did it in 1.19,310, nearly 0.4 seconds faster than his best time last week.
Valtteri before lunch was able to drive 68 laps, becoming the most productive racer first session.
Former teammate Bottas Felipe Massa during the second exit on Ultrasoft showed 1.19,420, becoming the second.
In the pits, Ferrari were testing the hydraulic system, which Kimi Raikkonen lost time, however the best lap on the Soft Finn allowed him eventually to become the third.
Max Verstappen Red Bull Racing classified fourth, followed by former teammates Nico Hulkenberg, now playing for Renault, and Sergio Perez of Force India.
The seventh rule of Carlos Sainz from Toro Rosso. The Spaniard had left only an hour after the start of the test day, but was able to drive 44 laps.
Pascal Wehrlein, fully recovered from the injuries received in the Race of Champions, showed the ninth result, and the top 10 rounded out by Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard was again forced to work with low engine power, behind in the end in 3.7 seconds from Bottas and drive until the smaller distance for the day – only 27 laps.
