The head of the United States Grand Prix Bobby Epstein believes that the new owner of the commercial rights of F1 to the American company Liberty Media has to buy a few tracks to build a long-term strategy in the Big Prizes.
“I believe that Liberty is the meaning of the purchase of the track, said Epstein in an interview with Reuters. – It would be part of a long-term strategy for sports development. The acquisition of certain racetrack is a logical and profitable business decision for them.
Under current conditions all circuits have problems. Are they willing to sacrifice the profitability of the business without buying the tracks? If the track will make money on racing F1, then F1 can get their own profit”.
Recall that in recent years there were many rumours about what COTA can leave the F1 calendar due to difficulties with financing and lack of popularity of the U.S. Grand Prix among American fans.
