The driver of the team Force India Sergio Perez admitted that Williams is far ahead of Indian team.
At the end of last week’s Australian Grand Prix, both riders of the Force India managed to finish in the glasses, however, Sergio Perez, far behind Felipe Massa. From the performance point of view Force India has lost in the offseason, much more than any other team.
“I think now Williams is much ahead of us – said Peres in an interview with AUTOSPORT. – The team is pleased that we were able to get ahead by using the more rapid strategy Toro Rosso and Haas. We have achieved more than hoped to get from the car. I’m glad the weekend went with a Bang.”
Due to the severity of the car VJM10 Sergio Perez was forced to sit on a rigid diet to reduce the overall weight of the car with the driver.
The Mexican admitted that he, together with Esteban Window they were able to compensate for the lack of power of the car in Melbourne, but the team needs in the near future to solve their problems.
“I think that in Melbourne a lot depends on the rider, continued Perez. Is bumpy, narrow and difficult track. As soon as we get on more traditional tracks, we will have more difficult, because now a lot will depend on the car.
The team need not to delay the updates and hard to develop the car. The Force India had not asked the season starts. For me it may even best start in four years, which is encouraging.
We have much to do, since in fact we are not in the position where you finished in Australia.
Compared to the tests we, of course, added, but weaknesses still hinder the car. We need to understand why we are not yet able to find the balance of our car”.
