The Ferrari pilot Sebastian Vettel won the first race of the season-2017, beating the two Mercedes of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas and his teammate Kimi Raikkonen.
From the start Hamilton scored the pole position, while Vettel started second, was forced to repel the attacks of Valtteri Bottas. At the end of the first round the starting order is left almost unchanged: Hamilton, Vettel, Bottas, Raikkonen, Max Verstappen, Felipe Massa, Romain Grosjean, Carlos Sainz, Sergio Perez, Daniil Kvyat.
Not done at the start without incident: already in the third turn of Marcus Ericsson and Kevin Magnussen collided and flew into a gravel trap. The stewards decided that none of the riders is not fully to blame for the accident, allowing them to continue the race.
Daniel ricciardo, who at first was not going to start in the race, still managed to leave the boxes after some time.
After the start, Sebastian Vettel didn’t let go Hamilton, and the British had most to up the pace to get out of the DRS zone and German. If Vettel after a bit and started to let Lewis go, already in the ninth circle Sebastian showed the fastest lap 1.28,234. For the thirteenth circle Hamilton managed to surpass this result is 1.28,117.
Neither Valtteri Bottas or Kimi Raikkonen from the outset, could not oppose his pace teammates. Both Finn behind to the tenth circle for a few seconds from the two leaders.
Surprised everyone in qualifying in sixth place Romain Grosjean was forced after the quarter pole to drive into the pits with a Smoking engine and go.
The low level of degradation of rubber did the trick – riders for the most part, only once went into the pits and opened the first window of pit stops Hamilton, Vettel provided the opportunity to create advantage on a clean track. However the Soft tyres Hamilton
earned no worse than “tired” Ultrasoft Vettel. But in the hands of the Germans played a strong reluctance max Verstappen to miss it.
Meanwhile, the British began to get nervous and ask the engineers where on his car so understeer and all was in order with the bottom. Vettel, this situation was at hand, and only on 23-m round the command has put the German new Soft tyres. This year, the Ferrari strategy worked perfectly – Sebastian is left literally a few metres in front of the pair Verstappen/Hamilton resisted the attacks of the Dutch and started to pull on in fact, the first place in the race.
Strategists Hamilton immediately informed him that the team goes to “plan B”, which, looking ahead, completely failed in the battle for the victory.
By mid-race order in the top ten was: Vettel, Hamilton, Bottas, Raikkonen, Verstappen, Kvyat, Massa, Perez, Sainz, Fernando Alonso.
By this time, in addition to Romain Grosjean due to problems with the car dropped Jolyon Palmer and Marcus Ericsson. To this list then added and Daniel ricciardo, whose engine failure spoiled and so far not a good day.
After mid-race the gap between Vettel and Hamilton were kept in six seconds, while Valtteri Bottas was a bit of play with your partner.
For ten laps before the end, little has changed: behind the top five was located Massa, Perez, Kvyat, Sainz and Alonso, both Toro Rosso and McLaren one in the end zone.
To the finish, almost nothing has changed: Daniil Kvyat drove your first cut on Ultrasoft 26 laps, after which the new Supersoft tyres allowed him to break out in eighth place. However the Russians stopped at a pit stop a few laps before the end of the race, having traded in the end, sometimes with a partner.
Hulkenberg, Antonio Giovinazzi and Stoffel Vandorn closed the peloton finished.
Was unable to finish his debut Grand Prix of lance Stroll. On the 44th lap of a young canadian after the departure in the gravel, was forced to drive into the pits to finally go.
In the end Esteban Windows and Nico Hulkenberg managed to beat Fernando Alonso perfectly executed maneuver. The Spaniard, unfortunately, has complained that the car is to the left and was forced to go into the pits…
