The Haas racing driver Romain Grosjean told about the cause of problems, because of which he had to stop twice on the track during the morning session of the final day of testing in Barcelona.
“We had problems with the sensors, causing the machine just switched off” – quoted by Grosjean’s Speed Week.
But as said the Frenchman, the main problem was not that, but the brakes are applied.
“However, it’s not a surprise, he said. Together with our supplier Brembo we are working to resolve the problem. I’m not quite satisfied with the behavior of the machine on braking. It is primarily about confidence. During the qualification round can probably forget about it and just attacking, but in race mode it could be critical.
I think we can still improve in speed in the slow corners before the start of the season in Melbourne, it is important to achieve the maximum from the car on these sections of the route. We have planned several updates to the car, which I hope will help to solve the problem with the brakes”.
On the question of whether he is ready to start the season, Grosjean replied: “When you only have four days of tests before the first race, and one of them, moreover, was devoted to the work with rain tyres, it is very difficult to find the optimal solution. Leading the team was better prepared, while we still have a few problems. But, in the end, it’s part of the Formula 1”.
