Racer Ferrari Kimi Raikkonen showed the best time at the end of the morning session of the final day of the second pre-season tests in Barcelona, which was remembered by four red flags, caused by the problems of Romain Grosjean and Fernando Alonso.
Raikkonen could its terms for 1.18,634 ahead of max Verstappen, Red Bull Racing almost 0.9 seconds. The rider managed to be the first to get out of 1.19,00.
Valtteri Bottas from Mercedes rather slowly joined in the work, unlike their previous test days, and by the end of the session, got up only to fourth place behind Carlos Sainz of Toro Rosso.
Former team-mate at Force India Nico Hulkenberg and Sergio Perez have settled until the fifth and sixth row of the intermediate results, while seventh place went to lance Stroll from Williams.
The first red flag on the track was caused by the departure of Romain Grosjean in the gravel in the fifth rotation. The Frenchman was able some time later to resume work, but 15 minutes before the end of the session again became the reason of appearance of red flags.
Two red flags were posted due to the stops on the route MCL32 Fernando Alonso. The Spaniard managed to pass only 19 circles and took the last line of the results of the best laps of the morning session. Ahead, Alonso has placed Marcus Ericsson, who plays on the C36 with last year’s Ferrari engine.
The test will resume at 16:00 Moscow time, and behind the wheel for the first time sit Lewis Hamilton, Jolyon Palmer and Pascal Wehrlein in the Mercedes, Renault and Sauber respectively.
