World champion 1997 Jacques Villeneuve has approved the new regulations of the season in 2017, after watching the pre-season tests in Barcelona.
Recently Jacques has frequently criticized the previous administration for a boring F1 race, but now he is delighted with the new cars.
“From what I’ve seen, I like everything very much, – said Villeneuve. – First, the cars look great. Now it is large and full cars: now they are what they should be. It is worth noting the important role of tires in this process.
Prior to this, the pilots couldn’t attack the track. Now they will finally be able to drive the vehicles aggressively without worrying about the rubber.
Less tire wear means fewer pit stops – it doesn’t make anyone happy. On the other hand, the less pit stops, the sport become more understandable for the fans.
Racers will be able to attack in the corners, no fraying tires. This should play into the hands of the best pilots”.
