Technical Director of the Force India Andy green believes that the wear-resistant Pirelli tyres will make racing boring.
Before Pirelli set the goal for the season 2017 to make wear-resistant tires to allow the pilots to attack on the machines that will produce a greater level of downforce than before.
Green suggests that such an approach will not make the race more spectacular. Moreover, he is confident that the tyre regulations will require changes.
“Now on the Soft compound you can drive almost the entire race distance in Barcelona that is generally unheard of, because the pre-season tests on this track usually has a serious load on the tire, said green in an interview with Sky Sports. – Thus, this means that for the Grand Prix will be only one pit stop.
Of course, we need to check the rubber at different temperatures and on different tracks to see how everything will happen. On the other hand, I’m sure we will make some changes to the regulations, because, in my opinion, we are waiting for some boring races.
This week we have choose the tire to the middle of the season, so teams need to come to a unanimous agreement, or it has to make the decision at the highest level, because they outsmarted themselves with this regulation”.
