The Ferrari team took advantage of the offer by Liberty Media regarding the purchase of its shares.
Initially, the new owner of the commercial rights invited all the participating teams to acquire the shares in the parent company for 1.1 billion dollars.
When none of the teams have not shown interest in the proposal, Liberty Media has reduced the amount of shares for sale to $ 400 million and set a deadline on deals until July.
Ferrari became the first team, bought a stake in Liberty Media: in return for a 0.25% stake in F1 Scuderia received shares for $ 3.1 million in Liberty, and 11.4 million dollars in cash.
In that case, if the other teams will not follow the example of Ferrari and can’t buy shares, Liberty will once again become their owner.
