The head of the Red Bull Racing Christian Horner believes that a television company, a F1, must not oppose the freedom which was provided to the teams and their drivers in social networks.
In late February, the new owners of the commercial rights of F1 Liberty Media has allowed the teams and pilots to shoot and post short videos on social networks during the first block of pre-season tests in Barcelona.
The teams allowed the publication of video from the tests in Barcelona
The Christian believes that videos from social networks will give fans more interesting content that will lead to growth including the TV audience and play into the hands of the TV companies broadcasting the F1 championship.
“A television company would never have access to what we show now, î said Horner in an interview AUTOSPORT.com. On the other hand, we are not going to remove anything on the track, as it is not within our competence.
But it allows viewers to get closer to the pilots, to show some things that happen behind the scenes. This will only attract more attention and interest in sport and will make people turn on the TV and watch the race. I really believe that everyone will benefit from it.
It’s great that we were allowed to publish certain content, because the fans crave it. In the end, this is for F1. The interest in F1 will increase and people will want to switch on the TV to watch the race. This is a mutually beneficial process.
We showed them a lot of content. I even put in Instagram, and fans reacted to the fact that great. It’s a great option to advertise F1.
Nowadays people are very different watching videos. They have the opportunity to view the video even while sitting in the train. I think that such freedom in social networks will benefit all”.
