Converted to Mercedes, Valtteri Bottas thinks the management team will provide its list of rules of fighting with Lewis Hamilton before the start of season 2017.
For several years the contest between Lewis and retired, Nico Rosberg repeatedly had skirmishes and glowing situation.
“They often went through difficult times in relationships with each other and fought to the limit, said Williams in an interview AUTOSPORT.com. Mercedes gradually learned to handle a variety of unpleasant situations involving these two riders.
I have no doubt that rules about what can and can’t do, will be very strict”.
Bottas added that the team fight is for him uncharted territory.
“It is very difficult to be a team player and at the same time to think about their interests – continued Valtteri. – For me it’s a novelty, but I will continue to work as always – that is, to do everything for the team.
At the same time, I intend to pursue in F1 own goals. In this sport you need to be selfish to win.
I usually manage to get along easily with people and I hope I can be aggressive, but fair on the track compared to Lewis and the rest of the racers”.
After the unexpected departure of Rosberg F1 of the contract with Valtteri was signed only in January, but Finn doesn’t care that he has very little time on grinding to the team.
“We are very productive job – continued Valtteri. I spent a few rounds on the simulator and participated in engineering briefings. I feel I learned a lot this month.
Of course, I could start preparing early, but it turned out the way it did. With the first race I intend to live up to the expectations of the team and to perform at the vehicle level.
If I need a little time [to adapt] – not scary.
After working at Williams, I realized how advantageous to play in the same team for a long time. I was able to learn all staff to understand all the features of command operations on the track, tune and so on.
Now it’s important for me to learn quickly, because I only focused on the first place.”
