The FIA may delay the implementation of the system of protection of the cockpit “halo” after the interviewed drivers did not support this concept.

The FIA decided to interview 22 riders as to whether they support the introduction of “halo”, which each of them tested in 2016.
The FIA had received responses from 16 riders, seven of which voted against, five in favor and four abstentions, according to German publication Auto Motor Und Sport.
“The FIA will continue to search for alternatives in this area,” wrote reporter Michael Schmidt.
Recall that the main alternative to the “halo” is the concept of the protection of the cockpit from Red Bull Racing, which is a safety glass.
