Technical Director of the Force India Andy green has speculated as to what effect will the new regulations for racing and lifted the veil of secrecy some of the features of the training of a new car.
Last few years F1 cars significantly lacked downforce that they tried to fill using sophisticated splashes. Sometimes teams had to use these splashes even on tracks with lots of straight.
However, the new regulations change the situation: now the level of downforce of the car will increase significantly, however, there is the challenge about exactly what versions of the spoiler will need to use.
The technical boss of Force India said that this season will be about ten different variations of front and rear spoilers.
“Now we have become that much more downforce, so the choice of the wing will depend on the characteristics of the route, – said green in an interview with Auto Motor und Sport. Wing generating more downforce will only appear in Monte Carlo, Budapest, Barcelona and Singapore.”
In Melbourne, Sochi, Silverstone, Shanghai and Bahrain, the team chose indicators from medium to high. But in Spa and Baku will be the wing with the values of the clamping force is medium to low.
Green admitted that while his team of engineers found the perfect solution for Monza, where necessary, on the contrary, reduce the level of clamping force. Given that the aerodynamic parameters of the air resistance will increase by ten units, the maximum speed was reduced from 360 to 340 km/h.
