Sauber racer Pascal Wehrlein has officially confirmed that will miss the first pre-season F1 tests in late February because of a back injury received during a crash at the Race of Champions last month.
Despite the fact that after the incident, Pascal was able to independently leave the car, he decided not to participate in the second day of competition, when the fate of the national trophy.
In his Twitter account the German wrote: “Following the advice of doctors, I have to skip first pre-season tests due to a back injury. I sympathize with the team, but I promise you that we will be back in operation in full armor”.
Rumor has it that Wehrlein will replace Ferrari protege Antonio Giovinazzi, however, official confirmation has not happened.
