In the first hour of the debut test day in Barcelona, the McLaren-Honda had serious problems, according to AUTOSPORT.com.
Machine MCL32 managed no problem to drive 100 km during yesterday’s filming day in Barcelona, however, this morning, the vehicle completed only one installation lap, after which the team discovered a leak in the fuel system.
Press Secretary McLaren said: “we Have problems with the fuel system which must be investigated thoroughly. We plan to get back on track today, but due to the fact that it is a remote place, the detection problem will take several hours.”
Known motorsports journalist will Buxton reports that the search and elimination of problems, the team from Woking may take 4-5 hours. Thus, there is a high probability that by the end of the morning test session, Fernando Alonso will not return to the cockpit of the car.
Not a great start for the MCL32. Hearing it’ll take 4-5 hours just for McLaren to get to the root of the oil system issue to give it a look. pic.twitter.com/EoQorIm8Vu
