17-year-old Lando Norris is included in the programme of support for McLaren.
Last year the Briton competed in the Toyota Racing Series and the Eurocup Formula Renault 2.0, becoming the champion in these series. He also won a few races in British Formula 3, and in November made his debut at the Macau Grand Prix and took the 11th place.
In December, Landau was awarded the prestigious McLaren Autosport BRDC award and a prize in conducting tests in F1, and now confirmed as a participant in the Junior program of the team from Woking.
In 2017 Norris will spend a full season in the European Formula 3, where he will act for Carlin.
Ten teenagers, able to get into Formula 1
“It has become a reality! I’m incredibly glad to become a member of the youth program McLaren,” wrote Norris on Twitter.
Norris will be the third Junior in program McLaren along with Nobuharu Matsushita and Nick de Vries.
