New Sauber technical Director Jorg Zander told about the goals by the Swiss team for the season 2017.
For the most part of last year, the team had serious financial difficulties due to which employees were detained salary and car upgrade have been postponed.
But after Sauber bought the Swiss company Longbow Finance, the financial situation has improved. In 2017 Sauber is going to not only return to normal activities, but to become a team of middle managers.
“I want to see significant increase in results in comparison with last year, said Jorg in an interview to the official website of the Swiss team. – All base employees in Hinwil want it. Our goal is to become a mid-tier team.
We have now developed a development plan for the entire season. However, we need to be realistic as we initially are at a lower level than our competitors.
Development C36 goes according to plan, and we can say that we are moving in the right direction.
Overall 2017 will be important to us. We need to optimise the operating structure and operating processes. This cannot be taught through literature, and instructions. This is something that you must understand each employee. The team must accept these changes and get used to new working methods. It takes time”.
Zander also spoke about long-term goals Sauber.
“Together with the technical Department we will soon start work on a concept-2018. But it will not happen now because we want to carefully analyze your results early in the season 2017.
I want to work in a well-organized team, where I would be surrounded by satisfied and motivated people. I also want to ensure long-term stability for employees. I’m sure we are able to achieve this”, – concluded Zander.
