The FIA President Jean Todt hopes that the experience of Liberty Media in the digital sphere will be useful for the Formula 1, but sees no need for major changes in General.
“I think in Formula 1 and so it’s all right, – said Todt, speaking at the forum SPOBIS in düsseldorf. – Race should be unpredictable, and last year the fight for the title lasted until the last turn. I am sure that Liberty Media will give us various possibilities of using digital platforms, which will help to attract new viewers”.
Also Todt did not agree with predpolozhenii, if it would be the domination of Mercedes was the reason for the rule changes in 2017.
“Now dominated by Mercedes, before it was Red Bull Racing, Ferrari, McLaren, Williams. The same can be seen in any other sport, like football or athletics – continued Todt. – So we can only pay tribute to Mercedes and hope that their rivals will add”.
With regard to the new technical regulations, the Frenchman said: “Expectations are quite high, but let’s see how the first race.”
