McLaren racing Director Eric boullier has denied reports that BMW may be the new engine supplier for the team from Woking.
This rumor has spread once the company McLaren Automotive has announced the cooperation with the German manufacturer.
However, these partnerships do not apply to F1, where the only engine supplier for McLaren, Honda remains.
McLaren denied rumors of a possible transition to the BMW engines
When BlogBMW Eric was asked about the potential bundles of McLaren and BMW in F1, the Frenchman replied: “No, it’s just the work on the future project, nothing more.
It is an industrial project exclusively for McLaren Automotive. They will work together to develop new engines: electric and thermal. The company will share its technology know-how.”
Recall that the McLaren is the current long-term contract with Honda until the end of 2020, and in the near future the team from Woking is not going to change the supplier of motors.
