Romain Grosjean believes that at the moment, Haas has everything you need in order to design the entire machine.
Now the American team did not design your car like spare parts, including power plant, it delivers a Ferrari. In addition, Haas has access to a wind tunnel in Maranello, while the chassis of the American team Dallara supplies.
In his debut season in F1 this model of cooperation helped the team Gene Haas to score 29 points and finished in eighth place in the Cup of designers. However, Romain said that in the near future, Haas has no plans to change the principle of operation.
“So far, we’re the chosen path of development, Grosjean said in an interview AUTOSPORT.com. – However, I don’t know what will happen in the future.
I can say that in Kannapolis we were waiting for a plant that is ready to become a base for the F1 team to produce the machine.
It is impossible to start producing its own car in its debut year in F1, because current equipment is very complicated.
If we can get as close to Ferrari, it will be enough. I’ll be happy with this result.”
Grosjean admitted that the technical partnership with Ferrari was a key in winning 29 points in the first competitive campaign.
“Great to work with Ferrari. I met with its engineers and understand the system of work – continued the Frenchman. – We use most of their parts. It is interesting to see how they work. It was also important to understand how I can help them with the experiences available to me.
We are very satisfied with this cooperation. We would not have earned these points without their assistance.”
