Deputy head of the Force India Robert Fearnley has made it clear that the team will not let go of Esteban Windows, if Mercedes suddenly need to be replaced in his face over the next two years.
In 2017, a protégé of the “Silver arrows” joined in the Indian stables, where he replaced Nico Hulkenberg and became a partner Sergio Perez.
“Over the next two years he will be the rider Force India, and that settles it, said Fearnley in an interview with AUTOSPORT. – He will not be able to replace a single pilot Mercedes, although if they ask him to go for tests, I’ll be happy to give permission.”
Considering the communication Windows with the German team, there is a possibility that he will not stay in Force India for more than two years, but Fearnley does not see this as a problem.
“Rider, do not have the support of the other team, can also go to the end of the contract, – continued the Deputy head of the Force India. – It is important to optimize the interaction between the pilot and team in the allotted time. Obviously, if the rider achieves good results, the desire to move into the camp of competitors becomes less.”
