The ex-pilot Manor Rio Haryanto will not return to Formula 1 season in 2017. This was stated by his mother Indus Innovati.
Rio made his debut in the British team in 2016, however, had only half of the season, after which his cockpit MRT05 replaced Esteban Windows.
The reason for early termination of the cooperation between the parties was the lack of funds from sponsors of Indonesian.
At the same time, the chances of Rio to return to the Big Prizes in 2017 was estimated as 50 to 50. However, the sponsor Haryanto company Pertamina has refused to cooperate with the Manor, so the only option for him was Sauber, which, apparently, made a bid for Pascal Wehrlein.
Pascal Wehrlein reached an agreement with Sauber?
“Rio will not be in F1 in 2017. the deadline for the decision Sauber has expired, said Indus Innovati in an interview with the Philippine edition of Rappler. – Of course, we were very upset when he learned that Rio can’t compete in F1.
We very much hope that his Motorsport career is not going to stop because of money.”
