“I’m honored to present this award, – said Niko. – People often ask me about the health of Michael. Believe me, I too would like to know about it.
I’ve been with Michael for three years as a part of Mercedes. It was an interesting and exciting period in my career. It was a pleasure to fight with such a strong teammate. His attitude and fighting spirit prove why he became a seven-time world champion.
He has inspired and motivated me. The merit of Schumacher in that I became world champion”.
Todt added: “We have experienced him both good and difficult times.
Michael was always professional in his field. He was always scrupulous to detail.
In a sense, Michael was modest, because of what people thought he was arrogant. But it’s not. This is a great man. He’s always fought and is fighting”.
