Renault rookie Nico Hulkenberg has told that has already started physical training in order to better prepare for the season 2017.
In 2017, comes into force of technical regulations according to which the machine will be 4-5 seconds faster, which will put additional physical stress on pilots.
“For me, this offseason proved to be one of the shortest in recent years, said Hulkenberg in an interview to the official F1 website. Now every day I go to the gym because I want to approach the new season in perfect physical shape.
The new regulations will make the cars faster and therefore more demanding to the pilots. I want to prepare for this. 2017 will be exciting, and I look forward to working with new colleagues in a new environment.”
Also, Hulkenberg told how the retirement of Nico Rosberg will have an impact on it.
“It is a pity that Nico will not defend his title. Nonetheless, I am sure that he made an informed decision. Besides, now he won’t take me to the Grand Prix on his plane. This is very bad,” joked Nico Hulkenberg.
He also thanked Force India, which has spent the last three seasons in F1.
“After my long marriage with Force India I needed a new girl (laughs). Jokes aside: I am very thankful to Force India and left the team on a positive note, – said Niko. – We had the most successful season in the history of Force India, finishing in fourth place in the constructors ‘ championship.
I’m sure the transition to the factory team [Renault] – the right decision, which allows you to reach new heights.
Possible move to Mercedes? At that moment I no longer thought about the new team as they have already fallen in love with a new girl named Renault (laughs)”.
