Team Renault has announced the appointment of Kyron Pilbara for the post of chief race engineer.
Pilbeam began his career in Formula 1 in the BAR in the late 90s, becoming a race engineer in 2005 and later worked on the post at a team like Red Bull Racing (2006-2012), Lotus (2013-2014) and McLaren (2014-2016).
In 2017, he returned to the team from Enstone. Also under the reshuffle, the technical Director of the engine division in Viry-Chatillon and Rob white is the Director of operations.
“I am pleased to confirm two new appointments: Rob white goes from Viry-châtillon to the position of chief operating officer, and Kyron Pilbeam returned to our team as chief race engineer,” said managing Director of Renault Sport’s Cyril Abitbul.
By the end of 2016 Renault took ninth place in the constructors ‘ championship, scoring eight points.
