From 14 to 16 March at the Italian Vallelunga circuit hosted the first pre-season tests DTM with full specs of cars in 2017, according to TouringCarTimes.
In the composition of the Audi program was divided Mattias ekström and Jamie green. The Swede first took the wheel RS5 DTM on Tuesday, after a day 760 km.
“We’ve tried a lot of different things: short and long series of circles, simulation training and a wide variety of settings, – said ekström. – New DTM cars are definitely more demanding of piloting. In addition, to find the perfect compromise between the softer tires and new aerodynamics – not an easy task”.
The second day on the track worked green and ekström is back behind the wheel on Thursday. For three days, the new RS5 DTM car drove a total of 2112 km.
In Mercedes worked Robert Wickens, Gary Paffett and Edoardo Mortara. The main part of the program of the group from Stuttgart has been testing the new tyres.
“We did a lot of work, having collected a lot of useful data. It was great to drive over 200 laps,” commented Paffett, which became the fastest of the three Mercedes drivers.
BMW Motorsport shared programme of work between Maxime Martin and Tom Blomqvist, who had been on the road for a day and a half, focusing on assessing the impact of new rules on the behavior of the machine M4 DTM.
The final pre-season tests will be held from 3 to 6 April in Hockenheim.
